Each December, we dedicate the month to our #CauseWeCare scheme, where we raise funds for a chosen charity in the run up to the festive period. A time of the year, which is filled with joy, but is also a difficult time for some.

This year our #CauseWeCare project is very close to all colleagues at resource. In late November, we lost a very special colleague, Debbie Bryden.

Debbie fought a courageous battle over 18 months and has overcome many challenges along the way, both physical and emotional, and has done this with dignity, humour and always with her lovely smile.

We are naturally heartbroken at Resource as Debbie was a much-loved colleague, friend and our resident mother hen!  We also know how much she was loved and respected by our clients and partners.

Outside of work, Debbie was an amazing mum, wife, friend and protector of everyone she knew, and she will live in our hearts forever. Like the star she was, we know that she will shine eternal wherever her heart goes.

The charity we’re supporting this year is Sue Ryder’s Wheatfields Hospice, to thank the amazing team who cared for Debbie in her final days.

The Challenge:

Our colleagues have set themselves a challenge. The Resource Reindeer Ramble. We’re inviting colleagues and clients to take part in the challenge to cover 1000 miles from now until the end of December. For every mile covered, Resource will donate £1. If we reach the 1000-mile total, the donation will be doubled.

The distance is just over eight times the distance of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, which is on our doorstep at resource HQ.

We’ll be regularly updating our social channels Instagram and LinkedIn with our progress and invite anyone else to take part and add their mileage to the total. If you would like to add your miles, simply email Kate Staniforth or tag us in your miles on social media using #CauseWeCare.
